A Health Coach is someone who forms a collaborative, working relationship with a client, helping that individual set and achieve health goals. Health Coaches can help clients identify obstacles to success.
It has always struck me that the first 4 letters of "health" or "healthy" is HEAL; tapping into our health is how we heal. That means mind and body are connected, working together to create balance.
The "CO" in "Coach" is very important to me because it makes me think collaboration - we do this together!

As these (very 80s!) pictures will tell you, I've always loved horseback riding and dancing. While it wasn't always in front of the gates of Graceland, most of my early dance memories were with my mom in the living room, sweating it out to the oldies with Richard Simmons on VHS. That's truly where my love of fitness began.
As years went on, I developed a love for good food and good fitness. I began working with a personal trainer (everyone should have a coach!) while I was in college and thought about training as a possible career path. What else do you do with an English and Psychology degree?? After graduation, I worked at Jenny Craig as a consultant and loved meeting with and helping people 1:1. I knew I wanted to share my love for movement and yummy food, but was unsure of how to do so.
When the year 2020 rolled around, I
1) got married!
2) finally figured out how I was going to share my passion and experience. I enrolled in the Health Coach Institute and began working on my certifications for life and health coaching. Concurrently, I went after a myriad of fitness certifications, Zumba being my favorite!
As turbulent of a year as 2020 was, I did the best with what I had. I am extremely grateful that most everything was being adopted into the virtual style, which now allows me to reach people from all over.
I often say that people don't change; they simply reveal and accept their truest selves. I have to tell you, am I ever grateful for my husband (pictured) who showed me that we are, indeed, the authors of our stories.
We all have our higher selves residing inside. Some are more prominent than others and ALL need coaxing out. My gems, this is why I do what I do. My mission is to help people embrace their uniqueness, light it from the inside, and illuminate outwardly. Whether you want to be healthier, stronger, or are just plain confused about what the heck it even is you want - I invite you to collaborate with me and we will ride the journey together!
